The Moons known temperature extremes are more than double that.

When Voyager 2 passed by Neptune's
moon Triton in 1989, it recorded the lowest
known temperature in our solar system: — 391 degrees F.
Neptune has 13
known moons: Triton, Thalassa, Naiad, Despina, Galatea, Larissa, Proteus and Nereid Triton has the coldest
temperatures in the solar system.
This 30 - slide presentation revises the following learning objectives: 1) To explain how the Earth spinning explains day and night 2) To
know what a leap year is and explain why we need them 3) To explain why the average
temperature changes as we go through the year 4) To explain why the length of the day changes as we go through the year 5) To describe difference between stars and planets 6) To describe the phases of the
Moon 7) To explain that the apparent movement of the stars is caused by the rotation of the Earth 8) To explain total and partial solar and lunar eclipses 9) To explain the effect the sun and the moon have on tides on earth 10) To describe spring tides and neap t

Ideally, you'd like to
know the entire curve (and how its affected by ambient air
temperature, altitude, humidity, phases of the
moon, etc):
Coolant
temperature and, ideally, oil
temperature gauges are nice too, so I
know when I can safely rev an engine to the
moon.
NASA does not publish any «mean
temperature» in their
Moon fact sheet since the true number is not yet
known.
If you want to
know what the Earth's surface
temperature would be without an atmosphere, surely it would be instructive to look at the
Moon.
I
know, I
know, you are going to say, but the «average»
temperature of the surface of the
Moon is less than the
temperature of the surface of the Earth.
It's beginning to sound like man made a tragic error when he left the cave and decided to live on the fickle surface; does anyone
know the internal
temperature of our
moon?
If you had read my comments you would
know that I was citing the article that I referred to merely in support of the statement that that actual
temperature measurements taken on the
moon do not correspond with theoretical BB calculations.
Well, the
temperatures of Mars, Venus, & the
moon are said to be rising & there are no SUV's or cows farting there as far as we
know.
