Moto G got launched.
Having seen the original
Moto G get a 4G upgrade, the new Moto G isn't.
Not exact matches
Sure they are
getting some competition from Motorola now with the
Moto E and
Moto G.
The trade - off, however, is that the
Moto G does
get stock Android and timely updates, while Samsung's Galaxy J5 has TouchWiz on - top and requires a bit of extra fettling between software versions.
Motorola has already done a great job with
Moto G 3rd Generation and with new
Moto G Turbo Edition, it
gets even better.
If you're willing to take a few steps, including rooting your device, you may be able to
get Google Assistant on a handful of older and / or non-Pixel Android devices, including some Google Nexus and
Moto G devices, as well as the OnePlus One and Samsung Galaxy S5.

Along with Indian users,
Moto G (2nd Gen) users in US are also
getting the Android L update.

Moto G series is the closest experience users can
get at the moment with great vanilla Android experience combined with timely updates and a $ 300 price tag.
Motorola
Moto G (3rd Gen) has
got a unique notification panel with few quick settings and options, but you can not customize those options.
While it doesn't seem good for those looking to
get their hands on the next
Moto 360 or LG
G Watch, there's a lot going on in the Android Wear space right now.
While you're not going to
get the same quality as you would from a stand - alone camera, or even something like the LG
G4 or one of Samsung's latest models, your new
Moto G is capable of taking some very good pictures.

Android Wear has come a long way since its first launch with the LG
G Watch and Samsung Gear Live, we now have the
Moto 360 available (well, if Motorola ever
get around to fulfilling pre-orders that is) and we have many more devices coming from ASUS and Sony to name a couple.
Now in its fifth incarnation, the
Moto G range may no longer be game changers they were originally but they are still arguably the best value phones you can
get.
The
Moto G runs pretty much stock Android 4.4 on arrival but it's due to
get the upgrade to Android L when that starts to roll out.
For the many people who will buy the
Moto G for casual use, you'll be more than satisfied with the horsepower you're
getting.
It's our general practice for the
Moto G family to
get one major OS upgrade per device, but it's important to us we keep our promises, so in addition to the N upgrade it has already received, we will be upgrading
Moto G4 Plus to Android O. Because this is an unplanned upgrade, it will take some time to fit it into our upgrade schedule.
The primary point of comparison for the
Moto G is the
Moto X, the one flagship phone Motorola launched during its «a Google company» era before
getting shipped off to Lenovo.
The Google Play Edition of the
Moto G is
getting the Android 5.1 Lollipop OTA update.
The original LG
G Watch, original
Moto 360 will not be
getting the update, it's unclear whether the Sony Smartwatch 3 will
get it.
The key differences are a bump up in screen size (from 4.5 - inches to 5 - inches) and the fact that this unit's gone back to the original
Moto G's dual - SIM 3
G arrangement; you only
get HSDPA + speeds, not 4
G.
Fans of turbo charging will also love the
Moto G Turbo Edition, which its available for Rs 9999, and although it does come with a rather smaller 2470 mAh battery, it supports Turbo Charging, which allows you it to
get a few hours of usage from a quarter of an hour's charge.

Moto G will arrive running Android 4.4 KitKat but Motorola said it will
get the upgrade to Android L as soon as possible.

Last year, both the
Moto G 2015 and the
Moto E 2015 were prematurely dropped after Motorola confirmed the phones were not
getting Android Nougat.
The term «game changer»

On paper, the list of specifications isn't the best you can
get at this price point, but on the performance front, the
Moto G is definitely up for the task.
The Galaxy S4 GPe follows other Google Play edition devices in
getting the OTA update, including the
Moto G, HTC One M8, and HTC One M7.
It looks like
Moto 360 (1st gen) and LG
G Watch owners won't
get a chance to check out the latest version of Google's smartwatch OS without first upgrading to a newer device, as neither Motorola nor LG plan to release Android Wear 2.0 updates for their first generation Wear smartwatches.
Round that off with the new and old
Moto G devices, and you can see that just like its predecessors, the only real trump card that the Pixel V1 holds is the assurance of
getting Android updates quickly.
Still, more choice for mid-range devices like the popular
Moto G line could help make devices that don't break the bank that bit more powerful the further we
get into 2016.
Back then, if someone asked if you were going to
get the Samsung Gear Live or the LG
G Watch, most would have responded that they were waiting for the
Moto 360.
