Out of the box, the
Moto G I tested came with Android 4.3, and I know there's an Android 4.4.2 update floating around though unfortunately it hasn't reached my device
yet.
The Motorola
G2 was not much of an upgrade over the
Moto G, but Motorola has not given up just
yet.
There's a Texas Instruments OMAP 3 processor making this digital smartwatch tick, and it's about four - year - old technology that can also be found in the MotoACTIV and
Moto Droid X. Maybe Motorola had to burn through these 45nm chips instead of opting for the more efficient,
yet capable Qualcomm - made 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 found in the LG
G Watch and Gear Live.
The absence of 4
G may also seem an oddity - especially when the interim
Moto G model offered such connectivity, so we wouldn't be surprised if
yet another 5 - inch
Moto G appears with 4
G in the near future - but when price is king that's not such a surprise.
NFC is missing from both the
Moto G 4
G and
G, but this is less of an issue as the contactless tech is still
yet to take off in a big way.
Motorola's upcoming mid-range smartphone gets leaked out
yet again, this time showing off what the new
Moto G could look like.
The
Moto G series is the most successful line of handsets in Motorola's long history in mobile, and Lenovo will be keen to build on the success of the budget - friendly
yet well - specced range of phones.

Moto G was previously the lowest - cost
yet usable smartphone in the world before, leaks suggest that Motorola's moving toward another.
Like the
Moto 360, the LG
G Watch won't work with the iPhone, meaning Apple fans can't enjoy any Andorid Wear device just

With Google owned Motorola selling affordable

Moto G and
Moto X handsets there's another reason Nexus doesn't need to exist.
This update will bring the smartphone up to Android 5.0 Lollipop, a software that many devices - some of which cost several times as much at the
Moto G - haven't gotten
yet.
The Notifier overall features simple
yet attractive circular watch design to compete with some premium smartwatches such as the
Moto 360 and LG
G Watch R. However, the lack of IP67 - certified dust and water resistant built is making it an inferior device.
It's not there
yet though, especially if you've used a
Moto G or Nexus phone.
The
Moto 360 is a fairly expensive wearable like the Sony SmartWatch 3, coming in at around # 200 / $ 250 / AU$ 275 and for that you get arguably the best looking smartwatch
yet, with a metal body and a round face, though there's a cut - out at the bottom so it's not quite a perfect circle like the
G Watch R.
Like the 2013 model, the new
Moto G allows for customizable back covers, and will come
yet again in two varieties: colourful snap - on shells and wrap - around flip covers.
