fans may gripe that it regurgitates an already used heist plot similar to their own The Great
Muppet Caper from 1981.
Assisting the felt fellows are major
fans of their show from Smalltown, USA, Gary (Segel, Bad Teacher), his longtime girlfriend Mary (Adams, The Fighter), and Gary's puppet (and possible
Muppet) brother Walter (voiced by Peter Linz).
It's also a musical, like the original
Muppet Movie from 1979, so
fans of song - and dance numbers, some inspired and some forgettable, should find many things to smile about.
X-Men:
Muppet Babies is a fun rejuvenation of the franchise and one that will surely have
fans wanting even more.
When young
muppet - faced
fan Walter (voiced by Peter Linz) overhears what Tex intends to do, he bands with his brother Gary (Jason Segel, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and his girlfriend Mary (Amy Adams, Doubt) to re-unite the crew and throw one last live telethon to raise enough money to buy back the studio.
Though the
Muppet Movie
fan in me still expects a little more for a film of this stature, I'm at a loss as to what more Disney could provide, apart from one of the gang's many unreleased television programs.
Gary (Segel), along with his
Muppet - looking brother, Walter (voiced by Peter Linz), have been Muppets
fans for their entire lives.
