Finally, under the heading of unintended consequences, I am very fearful that placing sole responsibility for standard setting with the federal government could result in the worst of all possible worlds:
national standards and assessments that embrace the conventional wisdom and social agendas of the
education «experts» who staff our schools of
education, teachers
