Bridgette's methodology was in many aspects (for example directly interviewing SRLs and court services staff) similar to our own
National SRL Study.
In the last 12 weeks I have made many presentations about the results of
the National SRL Study to audiences of lawyers and justice system professionals, as well as to other public («non-lawyer») audiences.
However, in her analysis of a selection of provincial Court Guides especially developed for SRLs for the 2013
National SRL Study Report, (see the Report of the Court Guides Assessment Project at Appendix I) librarian Cynthia Eagan found the reading levels of some of these materials was higher than grade 13 (using the Flesch - Kincaid test).
At this year's Conference we shared the resources of SATA with the Ministry of Justice in order to examine the results of the NSRLP's

SRLs, and maintains a fairly robust resource library.
But as we rediscover each time we release a new resource, and experience the gratitude of
SRLs and the widespread attention of other
national and provincial organizations, the enormous amount of work necessary to develop these resources is being undertaken by some of the most overworked and under - resourced agencies and individuals in the access to justice field.
There are links to information on other websites, but the platform generally tries to provide a complete resource so that people do not get lost navigating from site to site (a problem many
SRLs described in the
National Study: Julie).

SRLs.

The goal is clear —
SRLs need and want assistance, and a
National Database could offer information on affordable assistance that provide at least a measure of access to justice for those who would wish to avail of them.
But further than this — we want to extend the
National Database beyond lawyers, and include contact information for other professionals who offer services for
SRLs.
