The gentle rolling peaks and valleys surrounding the hilltop medieval village are so picturesque and covered in vineyards that produce fine wine recognized centuries ago as being worthy of kings: Vino
Nobile di Montepulciano.
We'll start with primo ingredients, a little flurry of activity, perhaps a glass of Vino
Nobile di Montepulciano, and soon we'll be carrying platters out the door.
Of the 26 Italian DOCG wines, six are produced in Tuscany: the Brunello di Montalcino, the Carmignano, the Chianti, the Chianti Classico, the Vernaccia di San Gimignano and the Vino
Nobile di Montepulciano.
A third wine, the Vino
Nobile di Montepulciano, is produced with Sangiovese vines.
