tablet, on which I have installed Kobo,
nook, and Kindle
apps, along with Aldiko.
I really wanted to get the fire for my 9 yr old she loves reading books on my iphone (kindle
app) Not to mention the games ans so on, ir keps her from getting into fights with her younger sister in the car, but now i am considering the
nook just because the parental controls, i am worried i can not keep an eye on her while driving plus things can find her quicker than she can find things, lets face it shes an innocent 9 yr old so why risk it, i know she wont go looking for porn or whatever but when she was younger she was looking for a hello kitty web site and we were both horriefied what came on the screen, so i huess the debate is

I agree, at least Amazon will let you back up your books on your local computer, this is something Barnes and Noble suspended a few months ago, its either use our e-reading
apps for ios / android or buy a
nook e - reader /
tablet.
BN is creating a very curated experience (like the
nook UI) and as far as I've seen the
apps that have come out of the
nook appstore have been similar and in some cases superior to what exists elsewhere (one example is the evernote
app, which looks remarkably different on the
nook than it does on my android phone, not sure if it looks the same on other
tablets, but...).
All of a sudden i a getting an error message (on my samsung impression
tablet i10 - 80) when i try to open my
nook app that says can not communicate with barnes and noble servers.
The low - priced
Nooks aren't the only ones to be getting extra attention from home base — earlier this month, the company's Nook HD and HD + Android
tablets got access to
apps in the Google Play store.
It is actually a row of newspapers, magazines, books, and
apps that run along the center of the screen and the
nook tablet home screen.
I do remember that when the
nook tablet was introduced it was «unlocked» meaning that you could install any android
apps in it.
Like Amazon's Kindle the concept behind the Nook platform is hardware used to sell digital content, with
Nooks ranging from a basic e-ink model ($ 99) to a 9 - inch
tablet coming in at $ 269, but none of those are available on this side of the pond where we're stuck with iOS and Android
apps to read Nook books.
