The vice president of Samsung electronics in Turkey has confirmed the timeline for the release of
the Nougat update to the devices in his country, meaning users of the smartphones in the rest of Europe should be receiving the update soon as well.

While owners of the unlocked devices around the globe are being treated to the upgrade, the majority of U.S. Galaxy S7 and S7 edge users are locked into their handset via their carrier, and therefore have to wait for each of the four major networks to release the Android 7.0

updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in 2016 but it won't make the transition
to Android 7.0
Nougat or newer iterations of Google's mobile operating system, at least not in official terms.
We've been closely following the progress of the latest Android software upgrade, Android 7.0

While we understand how this system works in theory, we have yet
to see how it actually performs in practice, since
Nougat hasn't had an
update yet, and no
devices have shipped with 7.0.
This doesn't give us much hope for future
updates, and although the
device is compatible with Android 7.0
Nougat, owners will need
to wait until Meizu produces a version of its Flyme user interface based on the new version before getting it.
As part of the Android One program, the A1 will feature stock Android
Nougat, and will get OS
updates soon after they become available from Google; that means it'll get Android Oreo by the end of 2017, and Xiaomi says the A1 will be one of the first
devices to get Android P when it arrives.
Up
to now, the only
device to have received an official
update to Android
Nougat yet it has been around since 2014 is the Google Nexus 6.
Samsung has

to receive the Android O
update going forward.
The launch
to Android phones is similar
to the U.S. launch, with the full
update finishing «in the coming weeks» for
devices running Oreo,
Nougat, and Marshmallow.
As with
updates on other Moto
devices, this upgrade doesn't change all that much compared
to what stock Android
Nougat brings
to the table.
