Nut milk bags work so much better because they are already bag - shaped, don't stretch over time, are resistant to picking up stains or food odors, and can be machine washed.

nut bag will help you strain the
milk more easily, but if you don't have one multiple layers of cheesecloth will
work just fine.
Here are the few things I did to make mine
work since I didn't have a
nut milk bag to get my first batches of pulp more dry: First I added some ground chia seed.

So then I filtered them with my
nut milk bag, which
worked nicely.
I just bought a couple a weeks ago, and they
work fantastic, treat them as you would any
nut -
milk bag.
An obvious go - to for dairy free people is almond
milk and it will always be in my top 3 but after purchasing in a really good quality
nut milk strainer (a muslin cloth
bag), I started branching out to different
nuts to see what
worked and what didn't.
However, I don't think that they would cause the almond
milk to separate — it doesn't matter whether you use cheesecloth,
nut milk bag, or flour sack — they should still
work the same.
1) A reusable
nut milk bag (this one is my favorite) or cheesecloth, 2) a few airtight large glass jars / containers (I'm partial to the brand Weck, but mason jars
work great as well), and 3) a high - speed blender.
I wasn't able to get my hands on a
nut milk bag, which would have made the
milking process much easier, but no worries cheesecloth
works just as well, but you may need an extra pair of hands.
