this guide is for advanced Android users and it would be best for you not to use it in case you don't know how to use
ODIN, the program
needed in order to flash the XXCMD2 firmware files for the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet.
The tutorial can be used to flash Android 6.0.1 firmware with
ODIN tool, a small app designed to flash tar.md5 images of Android software without the user's
need to wait until Samsung pushes official update over the air.
To install it, you will

NOTE 2: If
ODIN says «PASS», but the phone is unable to get past the Samsung boot animation screen, then you will
need to perform a factory reset.
NOTE: if
odin says that the installation has «passes», but the phone doesn't go past the Samsung boot animation, then you will
need to apply «factory reset» from Recovery Mode screen.
NOTE: In case
ODIN says «FAIL» or the device freezes, the phone enters into a boot loop, then you will
need to power off the device, disconnect it from your PC, close
ODIN, and then repeat the entire tutorial once again starting with step 3.
In order to successfully flash the XXUBMEA Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Update manually using
ODIN, you
need to read the guidelines below first.
You will
need ODIN installed, which you can download here.
For the update process you will
need to use the
ODIN app, and for
ODIN to work with your device you will have to install the above usb drivers, and to enable the USB Debugging from Developer Options menu.
If FAIL is shown by the
ODIN app, then you
need to try and repeat the whole tutorial more than once.
If
ODIN shows the PASS alert, but the Galaxy S8 enters in a boot loop, or it gets stuck at the boot animation screen for more than 20 minutes, then you will
need to Factory Reset the device.
Also, for your computer to work with the Download Mode you will
need to have the
ODIN software present.
For your smartphone to be recognized by
ODIN when in Download Mode you will
need to have the latest Samsung USB Drivers installed on your device.
For
ODIN to work and complete the update without problems you
need to have those usb drivers above installed on your PC, and for the USB Debugging option to be enabled on your phone's Developer Options menu.
For the installation of the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Update you will
need to use the
ODIN app.
