As a mark of the expected value of OER, a number of major philanthropic organizations, including the Hewlett Foundation, Next Generation Learning Challenges (NGLC), and the CK - 12 Foundation, are investing in the creation and development of OER content and
OER curation tools; and the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) has a project, called the Learning Registry, which helps make OER content easier for teachers to find.
