oatmeal cooked in water with an ounce of raisins and a tablespoon of brown sugar.
Besides a good
breakfast containing low glycemic index carbohydrates (like
oatmeal, fruit, and whole grain
breads), high quality protein, and good fats, it's critical to fuel up with liquid protein and carbohydrate drinks all day between games.
Packaged
breakfast cereals are quite costly compared to cook it yourself
oatmeal or even a poached egg on whole grain toast (even better if you teach yourself how to make healthy whole grain
bread) Also I think people overestimate the amount of food they need.
Do not eat cereal grains — wheat, barley, oats, corn — or foods made from them —
bread, pasta,
breakfast cereals,
oatmeal.
Try cooked rye flakes or cooked rye berries as an alternative to hot
oatmeal for
breakfast or enjoy the rich, hearty taste of rye
