Expanding on that a bit, many of the Troika /
Obsidian games with «morality choices» (Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura, Alpha Protocol, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords, Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer) make you feel like an asshole for picking the evil option (because you're, well, being an asshole in those situations).

As such, it's always somewhat of an open question whether a new
Obsidian game will come to consoles — Pillars of Eternity did, but Tyranny did not.
Not exact matches
Great screenplay from Parker and Stone and a surprising amount of care in
game design from
Obsidian make this an experience that, while might not offering a challenge, surely achieves its primary goal.
Everyone with a sweet tooth for fantasy and roleplay should consider this
game, as it's a true masterpiece from
Obsidian.
Renaming the
game to «Baldur's Torment» may be the easiest way to describe the triumph of spirit, design and scope of this masterpiece made lovingly by
Obsidian.
Obsidian Entertainment managed to create a South Park
game that is completely indistinguishable from the TV series.
Obsidian's dedication to ensuring that every problem has multiple solutions also deserves praise; even the
game's final boss can be talked out of a fight.
Even though Take Two has recently announced that all their
games going forward will feature loot boxes or microtransactions,
Obsidian has confirmed via a post on their forums that they flat - out will not include such features in their upcoming RPG.
The latest
game in the post-nuclear RPG series is being developed by many members of the Fallout 1 and 2 team at
Obsidian Entertainment using the Fallout 3 engine.

games.
Obsidian Entertainment is well known for its great role - playing
games, so there was no doubt that Tyranny would deliver in full.

Obsidian Entertainment, asks a very compelling question: What's it like to be a henchman for an evil and immeasurably powerful god - being who wants to subjugate the world?
Considering this, it's kind of weird then to see how the recent THQ /
Obsidian / UbiSoft
games are being distributed for everything but Nintendo platforms...
Why couldn't the
Obsidian Aliens RPG have come out instead of this E.T. mounting stand of a
game?
I still say it was because
Obsidian was talking a lot of trash in the months leading up to the
game's release, concerning supposed issues they had with Sega and their handling of publishing duties when it came to Alpha Protocol.
I've enjoyed how Bethesda's Fallout
games (and
Obsidian's) have handled world building without giving you the exact circumstances that led to the war and nuclear destruction of the United States.

In short, THQ really needs
Obsidian to give them a blockbuster
game and
Obsidian really needs the support of a strong publisher to give them the backing they need to make a blockbuster
game.
I have great affection for some of
Obsidian's
games, especially Fallout: NV and Alpha Protocol, but they're not exactly a reliable company.
Still, you will be haunted all the way by the
game that could have been had
Obsidian been given more time.
Unfortunately SEGA didn't pick it up due to the poor performance of the first
game, and as they are the IP owners
Obsidian can not proceed on a sequel without their approval, which even now they are reluctant to do.
Obsidian has clearly got the ability to produce really superb AAA titles but seems to lack the clout of their rival Bioware in terms of being able to say when a
game is ready or not.
Disney pulled the plug on the
game, titled Dwarfs, and
Obsidian was forced to step up their negotiations with SEGA on Alpha Protocol to get the
game signed quickly - and in doing so, signing away the IP rights.
Obsidian has gained a reputation for releasing
games that are extremely buggy at release (again, see Fallout: NV and Alpha Protocol).
By living in Las Veas, I know on the top of my head on how the strip really looks like, and by playing the
game on the destroyed Vegas strip, I can say that
Obsidian did a good job in having that «Las Vegas» feel in the
game.
Paradox and
Obsidian are bringing out a Complete Edition of Pillars of Eternity, their Baldur's Gate spiritual successor, which will also feature brand new DLC - and it'll be free to existing owners of the
game.
Obsidian is looking for experienced, talented gameplay programmers to join our team of
game developers.
