The 76 - year -
old says the whole thing was a big misunderstanding and that he went to the department store to return a
coat and the alarm sounded when he went through the security gates at the front
door.
The mix of the
old barn
door and your
coat rack is really nice.
Between each
coat did you use the cleaner or just a tack cloth we are doing a few
doors at a time casue our kitchen is very large but do nt want to spend all the money on new cabinets since our are just a few years
old but same
old builder grade like yours.
Other areas (like the
doors) looked like they needed a
coat of primer to seal in the
old finish before the chalk paint was applied.
You could make a creative
coat hanger for your wall with just about anything (shutters, an
old door, a wood step ladder... and hooks.)
What we love most about it is that
door — it's
old, need of a
coat of paint and PERFECT!!
We slapped some
old vintage
door handles (that we found in our basement from the previous owners) on a board to use as
coat hooks.
To combat that and to seal the
old finish of the
door, I finished the whole piece in two
coats of a spray poly.
