Jonathan LeVine Gallery recently brought Olek, DalEast, Dan Witz, Saner, Nychos and Jeff Soto to Berlin for their takeover of Project M, Urban Nation's ever - evolving outdoor art gallery.

Gallery has nurtured the careers of Shepard Fairey, Invader, Olek and others.

Located at Mana Wynwood and with the help of Mana Urban Arts Project, the Clubhouse included our group exhibition A Conversation Between Friends (details below), as well as installations by Swoon and Dennis McNett, site - specific work by Olek, Alex Yanes and Low Bros, a book and print shop operated by 1xRUN, and many other interactive components.

Olek re-creates a massive, crocheted front page of The New York Times to drape over the facade of the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art.

For Olek, everything can be made into something more than what it was before when it's enveloped in colorful fibers.

A frequent collaborator, she has been fortunate to work with performers Heeran Lee, Ginger Wagg, Brian Buck and Maré Hieronimus; musicians Amy Farina (of The Evens), Scanner (aka Robin Rimbaud) and Lucas Zarwell; and artists Michael Wichita and Agata Olek, among many others, on her projects.

In the latest video by Friends We Love, Polish - born, New York - based crochet artist Olek discusses her work featured in The Bad Artists Imitate, The Great Artists Steal, her current solo exhibition at Jonathan LeVine Gallery.

Along with these new works, Olek will cover the gallery from floor to ceiling in her signature crochet.

Olek's exhibition title, «Let's not get caught, let's keep going», borrows itself from a Thelma and Louise film quote which reminds the artist of her friendship with Miss Van: «Vanessa truly is a person who you can steal horses with.»
