The
only thing you'll need to keep in mind is that taxes can be very hefty on some of these
awards depending on the airline and
route.
When Promo
Awards are offered at 50 % off for the Europe — North America
routes, you'll
only pay 12,500 miles each way in economy and 25,000 miles each way in business class... a seriously great deal!
With the Star Alliance
award chart, you would now pay 97,500 miles rather than the 118,000 miles required by the
award chart for Singapore -
only routes.
The taxes on your roundtrip
award flight using Avios on Aer Lingus to Dublin will
only be around $ 150, while flights
routed from Heathrow cost nearly twice as much in fees.
These products along with their very reasonable
award rates make Virgin America a tempting option, but ultimately their
route network is so limited that you'll
only be able to take advantage of it for certain
routes.
Right now there's pretty good
award availability on this
route as flights have
only recently been loaded.
Off - peak
awards are the cheapest, but they are
only available in economy class on certain
routes and during specific time periods.
While the number of miles needed for a Business Class redemption isn't exactly low (you're better off trying to get to / from Europe on United's own aircraft which will

The 777 - 300 offers 52 Business Class seats while the Dreamliner has just 28 so, not
only is the
route losing First Class, it will also see a significant drop in Business Class capacity from 15 December — that's not good for prices or for
award availability.

Awards for the Caribbean this month and it's for travel between Paris Orly and Cayenne in French Guiana... but the promo is pretty good:

only that, but first class
awards on many
routes aren't much more than you'll spend on an inferior product from some other airlines.
These
routes still
only cost 105,000 Japan Airlines miles for a round - trip first class
award ticket, but you'll get hit with over $ 1,000 in taxes and fees.
Since British Airways uses a distance - based
award chart, this
route will cost you
only 20K Avios in Economy and 40K in Business Class, which represents a better value all around versus using AA miles.
However, If you are considering accumulating miles for this promotion, keep in mind that Singapore Airlines charges fuel surcharges on
award tickets and this promotion is valid for
only saver economy
awards on select
routes.

I found
routes with
only $ 73 in fees and for 115,000 miles (saver
awards).
Generally speaking, the
award chart is the
only routing rule you need.
Sometimes a particular
award is
only useful if you fly that specific
route; in other cases the itinerary we use is just an example of many similar options.
Keep in mind that Alaska will
only display
award space for eligible
routes.
The most valuable partners in my opinion are United (which never charges fuel surcharges, allows free date changes, has flexible
routing rules, allows one - way
awards, and has dozens of partners to fly on) and Hyatt (where you can stay in incredible hotels that charge $ 1,000 per night with
awards as low as 5K and up to a maximum of
only 22K points per night).
I would aim for flying ANA, though they
only typically release first class
award space between late January and mid March for most
routes, at least in advance.
For example,
awards between North America and most of Asia cost
only 120,000 miles in first class, and they allowed one to
route either via the Pacific or the Atlantic (or one in each direction), with two stopovers enroute.
Overall, this partnership is good news because Virgin Atlantic is a transfer partner of American Express Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest, so there are now more options to book Delta flights without having SkyMiles (though partners like Virgin Atlantic
only get access to low - level
awards, meaning availability can be slim on certain
routes).
These regions were some of the rare reductions from the current chart to the new chart, and they were the
only reductions that caused AA
awards to be lower than Delta and United for the same
route.

Very few agents are patient enough to help you put together an
award like that, in fact some Delta agents have even told me they're
only permitted to search three
routes in a call and that if I wanted more I'd have to call back!

awards on this
route which requires even fewer KrisFlyer miles:

Being based in HNL, I thought I had escaped deltas wrath because
