Taking drawings specifically as the focus — the skill they most admired in each other — this exhibition brings together works from the two single - artist collections at Watts Gallery and Leighton House for display in parallel.

At MoMA, too, the exhibition has become what its organizers call an «open monographic» one, meaning that, at certain points as it recounts the history of the evolution of Rauschenberg's art and ideas, it branches off and pays special - focus attention to projects he undertook with various collaborators or to the work and thinking of other artists who influenced or inspired him.

Between the early 1900s and the First World War, the exhibitions culminated with the presentation of some of the greatest names of art of that period: Egon Schiele, Oskar Kokoschka, Pablo Picasso, André Derain, Gustave Courbet, Édouard Manet, Marc Chagall, Henri Matisse, Georges Braque, Paul Klee and many others, which has laid the historical foundation for the international focus on the best expressions of fine arts of the modern time.

Central to the exhibition is a re-examination of Op art and perceptual abstraction, with a particular focus on the work of painters Bridget Riley, Victor Vasarely, Richard Anuskiewicz, and Julian Stanczak, amongst others.

The Patron Saint of White Guys That Went Tribal and Other Works, the first solo museum exhibition of work by Pittsburgh artist Nick Bubash features a recreation of the artist's studio which focuses on a large group of found object sculptures.

Others focus on the collection, classification, and exhibition methods that are characteristic of both museums and zoos, which share a similar way of understanding and organizing the world.

Our second collaboration with the Met is an exhibition at the Cloisters focusing on the virtuoso art of miniature carving, which will feature 50 or so figurines, miniature altars, prayer nuts, monstrances, skulls and other memento mori boxwood pendants (22 February — 21 May).

In 2013 he conceived a publication with three other curators and critics: Journal of Contemporary Chinese Art Studies, an annual publication focused on research topics, archiving and exhibition studies of Chinese contemporary art.

AB: The exhibition The Future is Female focuses on contemporary female artists who have drawn on the feminist art movement of the 1960s and 70s, which included, among others, Judy Chicago, Martha Rosler and Lynda Benglis.

The exhibition will focus on the unique way sculptors approach drawing and will explore whether there is a difference between sculptors and other traditional disciplines in the treatment of two dimensional works on paper to communicate three dimensional objects and will challenge the notion that sculptors don't draw.
