as for me
ozil is a talented and skilful player but having only that is not enough to win the ever
getting stronger premier leage teams, he has to train hard for endurance and be a fighter, he has to come back and press
on the opponent defense and even midfieldes to disposes the
ball when arsenal loose the
ball and go back fast attacking like iwobi and welbeck are doing.

on on Perez being better than
ozil if he's given the chance, but neither of them are at wilshere's level when fit Wilshere is aggressive, you can't
get the
ball off him unless you foul him which gives us enough set pieces, he's a big game player, watch our games against Bayern, barca, Chelsea, man city, man utd e.t.c when he plays, he creates more chances You just need to watch his games even at Bournemouth against Chelsea, which brings me back to the point that, no coach will ever play
ozil while Wilshere is fit except wenger............ Plus,
ozil is a pu ** y or a weakling rather

gets chance to play as a CF for periods as Theo can drop out wide easier than Giroud, if Welbz is playing
on the right then all 3 of our players could play wide and CF.. The hold up play Giroud is great at won't be needed so much as
Ozil and Alexis can do hold onto the
ball and then bring others into play.
Player ratings GK - 5 not much to do looked a bit shaky
on crosses Bel - 6
got forward but poor crossing Mon - 7 did ok but impact for the goal Gaby - 7 defended well looked solid Kos - 6 did ok Coq - 6 ok defensively but poor distribution Xhaka - 6 did ok at times but very average player Gibbs - 6 wing back looks to suit his ability but would like more from him Walcott - 5 looked average and positive enough in possession
Ozil -4 poor in possession and none existent without the
ball, luxury player Sanchez 5 worst game I've seen him have and embarrassed the team by going down after the

Well yes, obviously Flamini has the potential to turn
on god mode and single - handedly destroy any team
on the planet... But we still should at least give those chumps Cazorla,
Ozil and Sanchez a chance to have at least a little bit of the
ball when Flamini
gets tired and doesn't feel like dancing through a wall of Bayern defenders and chipping or back - heeling Neuer with his eyes closed!
When Ramsey is playing well and he
gets back to defend then I think we see more out of
Ozil and Xhaka, I thought
Ozil played better at the end of the season than in the middle when the team imploded and that I do remember seeing Ramsey
getting back more than he did in pre season Chelsea game, along with the extra CB to help win the
ball back, it has meant
Ozil can focus more
on finding space ready for when his team mates have won the
ball back.
we have way to many silky skillled fleet footed fancy
ball players and what we need right now is a diametrically oppose player to all these we have and that is exactly why Coquelin wad such a hit last season,
get stuck in the tackle, harrass the
ball and the opposition, just generally be a nuisance in the middle and when he
gets the
ball he lays it
on to the
Ozil, Cazorla, Rosicky etc.....
If cazorla is back no one is better than him even
Ozil... Ox use to loose the
ball so it is not a good choice in the mid better work his magic in the wing... Can't rely
on Ramsey, one wonder season adn that's all...
Ozil should be sold and give Sanchez what he
gets...
Ozil is a luxury buy anyway... Before you speak about the mid you have to
get WC forward (2 if Sanchez does leave)... But who cares as long as The stubborn is here it will be all the same... Next year either we win the EPL or we go 6th or 7th, I don't want this 4th spot trophy anymore...
wow are we sterile up top, goals need to come from defense again,
ozil & cech were great, mert once again taking the brunt of bad comments meanwhile a clean sheet and did nothing wrong, open goal that was saved was kos out of position and monreal caught up the pitch too high, giroud has great
ball skills, issue is his position
on the pitch, watched the match again focused
on giroud, he tends to camp behind the defender from the
ball, this only works when you have the quickness to break, he does nt, I have screen shots where
ozil is 25 yrds farther up the pitch then giroud, thisis the problem, he is rendered useless unless
ozil holds up, and thats not
ozils strength, thus very few sog's from giroud
on the run, when giroud
gets lucky w space in front of the defender, he is lethal, but needs to
get into that space,
The Arsenal played well we had over 70 % position of the
ball with something like 27 attacks were 8 were
on target burnly had a game plan and that game plan was about hurting our players ankles and they
got away scot free with it yet xaka
gets red?????? Yes they were diddling about when that happened but compare it to the challenge
on ozil and he was
on goal yes koscienly came back from an offside position but the high boot
on the head was dangerous I thought Arsenal played well and controlled the game well even when we were put under pressure in our own half when you look at the penalty awarded to them you will see a dive as coquelin barely touched him how many time did they push kosscielny of the
ball???? hope he is ok as he was looking like he had a thigh problem I like the back four of todays as Gabriel did ok specially when we went down to ten men >> > I salute our Arsenal for wining the game
on the 97 minit with only 10 men
on the field What an iced cold penalty scored by Alexis
We will see now how good he is and can be if given game time Oh and by the way did you see Sanches give the early
ball with his right to
Ozil to score, if
on left side it wouldn't have happend, stop turn
get it
on my right, shit Iv lost it better run back.
He was making constant runs off the
ball to push the defence deeper and ensure Cazorla, Ramsey,
Ozil, Ox and Coquelin all
got more space and time
on the
ball.
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the
ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through
balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago...
on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender
on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to
get himself in trouble when he
gets overly aggressive
on the
ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the
ball too long, gives the
ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities
on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long
ball play: although I must admit he did
get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role
on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third...
on the front end, we have
Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily
on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are
on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay
on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we
get one of the most committed skill players we've seen
on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the
ball too long and he will give the
ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
No no no,
ozil doesn't belong
on the wing, he won't track back, and he plays
ball to feet, i don't want to see the same old
ozil gets passes it to centre, then to right wing, then back to center!
While I'm at it, its also disrespectful to the club to see a player like Rosicky who never fails to give 100 % stuck
on the bench, while
Ozil strolls around giving the
ball away every other touch he
gets and crying everytime somebody has the audicity to tackle him.
I can't stand welbeck for one reason he's not better than what we have but if you played a front two of welbeck and Sanchez then Cambpell left and Walcott or chaimbo right that would give us a huge counter attacking style with lots of skill and pace, but here is the problem to do this you need big strong DM to win the
ball back when we defend and we do t have them, flaming is reckless and
getting old, Arteta is good
on the Bala but not quick or strong enough, please don't say Diaby as we all know he will be inj soon again, then also what to do with
Ozil and Corzola?
Once we
got our handle
on the game
Ozil started
getting the
ball more and from there he opened Spurs up.
I would play chambers in dm position alongside ramsey with
ozil having free role behind sanchez and ox
on right that gives us plenty of pace and will allow
ozil to
get on the
ball more and produce his magic passes he will be much more influential then stuck out
on the wing espec as he is poor at tracking back so lets play to his strengths that will
get the best out of him and in turn create more chances for forwards!
In the box Ramsey falls down,
ball with
Ozil — with excellent skill he waits for Rambo to
get back
on his feet and then release a delightful timed soft pass to Ramsey for a clear shot at goal.
Ok so Aston Villa were the underdogs but look at the fuss made out of a possible disallowed penalty and free kick outside the area for AV
on the BBC, when
Ozil was clearly brought down inside the penalty area, but didn't make a fuss about it,
got up and carried
on, Bellerin was smacked by Agbonlahor with what looked like a forearm smash, or possibly an elbow in head and was down for a while, when the
ball was
on it's way, but hadn't even reached him and we weren't even allowed a replay by the BBC, let alone a comment
on a possible penalty / free kick / yellow card.
Sure,
Ozil and Cazorla are going to
get Walcott the
ball if he plays up front, but the team shape will suffer and Sanchez,
Ozil, and whoever is
on the other wing have trouble figuring out where to be too often.
Nothing like one underachiever blowing smoke up the ass of another... we know that
Ozil has some incredible technical gifts, but to be considered the best you have to bring more than just assists to the table... for me, a top player has to possess a more well - rounded game, which doesn't mean they need to be a beast
on both ends of the pitch, but they must have the ability to take their game to another level when it matters most... although he amassed some record - like stats early
on, it set the bar too high, so when people expected him to duplicate those numbers each year the pressure seemed to
get the best of our soft - spoken star... obviously that's not an excuse for what has happened in the meantime, but it's important to make note of a few things: (1) his best year was a transition year for many of the traditionally dominant teams in the EPL, so that clearly made the numbers appear better than they actually were and (2) Wenger's system, or lack thereof, didn't do him any favours; by playing him out of position and by not acquiring world - class striker and / or right - side forward that would best fit an
Ozil - centered offensive scheme certainly hurt his chances to repeat his earlier peformances, (3) the loss of Cazorla, who took a lot of pressure off
Ozil in the midfield and was highly efficient when it came to
getting him the
ball in space, negatively impacted his effectiveness and (4) he likewise missed a good chunk of games and frankly never looked himself when he eventually returned to the field... overall the
Ozil experiment has had mixed reviews and rightfully so, but I do have some empathy for the man because he has always carried himself the same way, whether for Real or the German National team, yet he has only suffered any lengthy down periods with Arsenal... to me that goes directly to this club's inability to surround him with the necessary players to succeed, especially for someone who is a pass first type of player; as such, this simply highlights our club's ineffective and antiquated transfer policies... frankly I'm disappointed in both
Ozil and our management team for not stepping up when it counted because they had a chance to do something special, but they didn't have it in them... there is no one that better exemplifies our recent history than
Ozil, brief moments of greatness undercut by long periods of disappointing play, only made worse by his mopey posturing like a younger slightly less awkward Wenger... what a terribly waste
No wilzhere or
ozil means that cazorla has more space to play, lobbing
balls left and right and spreading play.Wilshere should either sit
on the bench or play elsewhere.Ramsey should learn how to set up assist and give passes which does not involve him
getting a pass back.
Giroud is not the answer, you need pace, skill to benifit
Ozils touch, mabey when Wilshire
gets in you will appreciate
Ozil more as he has skill and pace
on and off the
ball.
Yes i would have liked Iwobi to have provided chances for Welbz and Laca, but his main job was to assisted in the middle of the park so that we did not
get overrun and that was done we do not normally see Walcott and
Ozil standing firmly with defenders in their back helping the midfield to move the
ball, the
ball would have been lost and arsenal would have been countered
on many occasion.
(1) this squad has way too many moving parts and very few of our players are good enough at their preferred position let alone relying
on them in whatever position Wenger and his magic eight
ball decide in the tunnel prior to the game... when teams do this it generally signals issues within the club, much like Jose last year and Van Gael before him... no one
gets settled, the chemistry is almost non-existent and if provides a built - in excuse when the team comes up short... these issues fall squarely
on Wenger, both for his decisions regarding players coming in and for his inability to rid the team of those players who aren't cutting it... in actually fact we have only 6 real starters
on this current squad and that's being generous (Sanchez,
Ozil, Lacazette, Sead, Kos & Cazorla)... which is discouraging because Cazorla is injured and might never play again, Sanchez is wanting out and the club is lying to us about his injury status, Lacazette receives no service,
Ozil is relatively disinterested out there, Kos is
getting up there and Sead is just trying to settle in... there isn't a single other player that would start regularly
on any of the other top 3 teams, which should be the standard... imagine this team moving forward if Wenger only sells before the window closes
He was sloppy in possession, but again,
Ozil is brilliant when we have runs and pace and some space, his game is not based
on working with the
ball too long, but nevertheless he was there at the end to
get the
ball past the line, despite Neuer almost pulling off another sensational save.
We could not even
get Ozil and Sanchez
on the
ball.
A player
on life support??? Why can't
ozil be good
on his own, we always say
ozil is not good because Giroud is slow, today Giroud is not in and yet we say
ozil is not good because they couldn't
get the
ball to him..
I feel slightly bad for Holding, he was good OFF the back in positioning ect, but
on the
ball shocking, he didn't
get much help from
Ozil and Bellerin who were both absent infront of him when he lost the
ball because he had no one to pass to, I guess it's his fault overall though, if you're in that situation and can't find anyone just hoof it away don't lose it and give them a chance
on goal.
We diick around
on the
ball way too much, another game where Wenger has
got it wrong by sticking
Ozil out wide and limiting his effectiveness.
