This wall - art installment features a mix of round mirrors and
painted embroidery hoops, some of which have fabric stretched inside of them.

I purchased a few different sizes of
embroidery hoops from JoAnn Fabric and I «stained» them all with a watered down brown milk
paint (Curio by Miss Mustard Seed's Milk
Paint).
The pendant lights hanging over the island were a DIY using
embroidery hoops (more here), and the backsplash was
painted / stenciled in that hex pattern (more here).

paint stir sticks; wood base, 7»
embroidery hoop, 7» circle mirror, gorilla glue or hot glue, paintbrush, Xacto knife, plastic spray
paint (optional, and not necessary if you use a wood
hoop), craft
paints in various colors; picture hanger (not shown) Tools: miter saw.
Once the
paint on your
embroidery hoop is dry, glue it directly on top of your mirror.

I placed the 8 inch
embroidery hoop around the
paint stick handles and hot glued the
hoop in place.
