The Social Forum offers all
participants a chance to explore our common vision of the Canada we want, and to

deeper understanding of how we can move forward together to make that vision a reality.
AISL seeks to advance new approaches to and evidence - based
understanding of the design and development of STEM learning in informal environments; provide multiple pathways for broadening access to and engagement in STEM learning experiences; advance innovative research on and assessment of STEM learning in informal environments; and
develop understandings of
deeper learning by
participants.
In addition to benefiting the individual
participant, PDO administrators will gain an example of exercises they can use to guide their trainees towards an
understanding of the
deeper value they will provide their future employers beyond the skills they have worked so hard to
develop.
In this course,
participants will become familiar with the Teaching for
Understanding design framework and
develop lessons that will foster
deeper, more transferable learning in any environment.
Participants will be actively involved in testing and experiencing digital and hands - on activities including the first Virtual Zoo program in development — Expedition Ocean — to get a sense of how
deep, wide, and vast the world's oceans really are, and gain an
understanding of cutting - edge active digital and hands - on activities being
developed from the partnership.

understanding grounded in the
participants» context.12 Researchers gather data through personal interactions or observations, rather than through objective instruments.13 Common qualitative data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and document review.14 Qualitative research is primarily inductive.15 Researchers begin by conducting a close study of the
participants in context, and gradually
develop themes and theories based on the
participants» experiences.16 Researchers can not
understand what it means to «do» legal writing without
understanding the
participants» experiences — the experiences of both writers and readers.

understand and engage in
deeper interpersonal communication to
develop more satisfying relationships with friends, family members, coworkers, supervisors, teachers, neighbors, and others.
