DBT groups are helpful for those in recovery as
participants learn skills to work through painful feelings without a substance, decrease addictive behaviors, get unstuck from emotional or behavioral patterns,
learn to be present in the moment and participate fully in
life, let go of shame and judgments of self and others, and utilize assertive communication.

skills learned in the Adult DBT Program, and going into more depth with other evidence - based practices to help them reach their
life worth
living goals.
By the end of the training course,
participants will understand facilitative mediation and its benefits, will have
learnt the classic facilitative mediation model, will have practised being a mediator in role play situations and will have gained significant communications and
life skills
It is the foundation for each and every
skill and concept taught in PAIRS classes and the motivation for
participants to practice,
learn, and integrate those
skills into their
lives.
Through these venues
participants will
learn key parenting
skills and early childhood development information, as well as find friendships and grow critical community supports designed to encourage discussion of real
life situations, moderated by a trained Extension Educator.
