artist projects.

participating artists receive mentorship and feedback on from Transformer staff, a

The 2016 — 2017 AIRspace residency recipients were chosen by
guest panelists Andrianna Campbell (independent curator and doctoral candidate, Department of Art History at the CUNY Graduate Center) and
artist Sean Micka (who also
participated in the AIRspace program in 2014 — 2015).
In addition to her artistic practice, Gingrow has
participated in numerous panel discussions, fundraisers, speaking engagements, and as a
guest artist for performances around the U.S..
Participating artist Carsten Höller created a hotel inside the Guggenheim that
guests could book one night at time.
The resulting website, designed by Edinboro sculptor Dietrich Wegner, features photos of the work of 81 sculptors, providing the pool from which
guest juror David Carrier, an art historian at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, selected the six
participating artists.
The
artists have been invited to
participate based on their unique approach and will create a one - off immersive experience for an intimate group of
guests that may include installation, performance, interactive elements and dinner or lunch.
