To give some new life to this dessert, I've taken my mom's classic
pecan pie recipe, and added even more richness with some dark chocolate and then
topped it with chocolate covered
pecans.
Perfect pumpkin
pie with a homemade caramel
pecan topping that takes this traditional
pie to a whole new level!
Arrange whole
pecans on
top of
pie.
A rich layer of pumpkin
pie is
topped with
pecans and a simple 2 ingredient streusel for the perfect fall dessert!
Variation: For a Salted Maple
Pecan Pie, sprinkle 1/2 a teaspoon coarse sea salt over the
top of the cooled
pie.
Then spoon a glorious slice of my favorite homemade pumpkin
pie with this warm, delicious caramel
pecan topping and there's no
pie that deserves «Queen Bee» status more!
This pseudo
pie has a sweet - tangy raspberry, blackberry filling and Almond
Pecan Coconut Crumble streusel
topping (and crust).
I added a few tablespoons of bourbon for flavor and used 1 1/2 cups chopped
pecans in the
pie and about half a cup of
pecan halves to decorate the
top.

What's in it: 1 cup steal cut oats 1/2 cup quinoa (any color is fine), rinsed 1 14.5 oz can pumpkin puree 1 tablespoon pumpkin
pie spice (or 2 teaspoons cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger, 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg) 1 tablespoon maple syrup (admit for no sugar added, add more if you like a sweeter oatmeal) 3 1/2 cups water 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (or any other milk you like)
Topping options (any combination of your favorites): pomegranate seeds, chopped apples or pears, chia seeds, hemp hearts, pumpkin seeds, toasted or candied
pecans, slivered almonds, roasted coconut chips, (brown sugar or maple syrup if you have a sweet tooth).

The pumpkin and
pecans come in in the form of a decadent, salted caramel that
tops the
pie and seeps into the apple filling, too.

Alyssa, This morning I made my current favorite breakfast oatmeal with 50 % quinoa flakes and 50 % quick oats (I added canned pumpkin, pumpkin
pie spice, and
topped with bananas and
pecans)-- It turned out great in the microwave — I didn't have any coconut flour - plan to get some soon — but just with the added quinoa it is now lunch time and I am still not hungry!
Pour into
pie crust and

So I'm gearing up to make the
pecan pie later today — since it's an open
top pie would I halve this recipe?
Top each
pie with coconut and
pecan mixture.
The
top is like
pecan pie, but — dare I be even more blasphemous?
However, you may choose different patterns to adorn the
top of your
pie, therefore requiring fewer
pecans.
Also, I figured some people may not want to adorn the
top of their
pecan pie exactly like I did, so fewer
pecans would be required.

pie doughnut covered in a maple white chocolate glaze
topped with maple bourbon
pecans for my post workout snack.
Drizzle the caramel over the
pie, immediately arrange the
pecan halves on
top (get creative with a design!)
Are there really No
pecans on
top of the
pie??? I have never had Texas
pecan pie before... so I am not sure what to expect.
