volunteer keeps track of any
foster families in the region along with their
family situation (e.g. other
pets, young children, etc.) They will match up incoming dogs with available openings in
foster families and track where our dogs are living.
Because of our dedicated
volunteers,
foster families, and contributors, we have been able to send
pets to several different locations in the Northeast.
All of our
pets are
fostered in comfortable homes with
volunteer foster families.

foster families are
volunteers with
families,
pets, jobs, school, and obligations of their own in addition to their
volunteer commitment.
While we search for the perfect new
family, the
pet stays in a
volunteer foster home, where they are nurtured by trained, loving
foster parents.
I release the Routt County Humane Society from any liability of injury or illness I, my
family, or my
pets may receive while
volunteering as a
foster parent for the Routt County Humane Society.
If the adoption team thinks this would be a good home - the
family will visit the orphan in the
foster home, or the
volunteers will bring the orphan to the adopter's home to see if this will be a good match with the
family and other
pets.

Please understand that all of our
pets are in
volunteer foster homes and sometimes «life» happens and the
foster family can not make it to their scheduled adoption event.

families • Learn where your public officials stand on kids» issues and use your vote to support
families • Allow for flexibility in scheduling where possible • Work with employees to manage workload in times of added stress • Create a community brag board so employees can show off kids,
pets, homes and hobbies • Support maternity / paternity leave for new parents (including adoptive and
foster parents) • Offer «lunch and learns» for employees wanting to learn more about child development • Involve your business in community events • Sponsor a day of service for all employees to
volunteer with programs working to strengthen
families
