at least received a nomination for Best
Picture at the Oscars and the LAFCA's selections have received
nods for the past 10 years, so, if history is any indication, the odds are strong that «Boyhood» will be on the list when Best
Picture Oscar nominees are announced.
At least it was nominated, although it converted only one of its nine
nods into an award (for best screenplay) and lost in the best
picture category to John Ford's family saga How Green Was My Valley.
The impact of that win on the Academy was minimal (though the film
at least earned two Oscar
