Few would have
bet that «Inglourious Basterds» would turn into the festival's Oscar MVP (they might have been more inclined to say Jane Campion's «Bright Star,» but that film went on to only earn one
nomination), or that festival opener «Up» was a sure thing for a Best
Picture nomination.
No huge surprises here; it's nice to see that Inception got nominated for Best

That said, it's a very safe
bet that the film will land a Best
Picture nomination.

bets for Oscar
nominations (
picture, screenplay, acting) etc..

Picture and Best Original Screenplay nods, and after Jordan Peele's recent DGA

bet for a Best Director spot as well.
No surprises and all solid
bets for Oscar
nominations for Best
Picture.
You can
bet that Steve Jobs will be included in the Oscar race for Best
Picture, director, screenplay, and acting
nominations for Fassbender and Winslet.
• Steve Pond takes aim at bursting a few Oscar trial balloons already set forth this season but hedges his
bet considerably when it comes to talk of a best
Picture nomination for «The Town.»

betting, I might go ahead and predict Beasts of No Nation to make it in based on celebrity endorsements and passion votes, flying in from out of nowhere to land a Best
Picture nomination.
