Pixel Visual Core will be an option in the Android 8.1 developer's preview before Google brings it to the Android
Camera API, so optimized
apps should start arriving shortly.
The
Pixel 2's
camera app doesn't have the same breadth of features as many of its competitors — there's no manual mode at all — but much of the magic happens behind the scenes.

It clearly means that these
apps will now be capable of clicking ethereal photographs similar to the
Pixel 2
camera.
Google is presently amid a major consumer electronics push that's centered around the Google Assistant, the most commercially viable manifestation of the company's AI - focused business strategy to date that permeates the majority of its contemporary offerings ranging from smartphones and speakers to gadgets like the
Pixel Buds and Google Clips automated
camera, as well as
apps such as Google Photos and Gmail.
