Currently, United only publishes

Platinum, which for the purposes of award booking, is good enough.

status challenges, which require a co-pay and a certain number of Elite Qualifying Points (not miles) within a 3 month period: 5,000 for Gold and 10,000 for
Platinum.
I've already received thousands of dollars in value from my new Hyatt Diamond
status, and while I'm hoping to re-qualify for both Hyatt Diamond and SPG
Platinum (for 2016, at least), it's going to be a
challenge to get there.
