All this makes
the PlayBook PIM apps great for staying on top of what you're doing and who with; business users and social butterflies will love this.
Sadly this version still does not bring
PlayBook PIM desktop sync.

PlayBook Native Email and
PIM Running via BlackBerry OS...
Users might enjoy the
PlayBook if they give it a test drive, but a lack of apps, no
PIM or email support and a lack of compelling features compared to the competition have kept the ball in Apple and Google's court.
As it stands now, assuming RIM works out the stability issues we saw,
PlayBook owners should absolutely be happy with the
PIM features and other new functionality coming to the
PlayBook next month.
In one of RIM's recent videos demoing their upcoming BlackBerry
PlayBook tablet, product manager Ryan Bidan asserted that even without a smartphone to Bridge it to (thus enabling standard
PIM stuff like e-mail, contacts, memopad, and calendar), the
PlayBook is still a great tablet for multimedia, apps, and web browsing.

RIM showed it off during their BlackBery World Keynote today, and working with BIS and BES, this is the full native email and
PIM experience you'd find on a BlackBerry Smartphone on the
PlayBook.
If making money didn't matter, I'm sure RIM would rather wait a few more months to release the
PlayBook once native email and
PIM support was present (read my editorial on why it's not here at launch) and some of the other apps were in perfect form.
The good news is that once native email and
PIM support is rolled out by RIM, it should be made available to all
PlayBooks, even the WiFi - only versions, via a software update.
This combined with the native email and
PIM should cause
Playbooks to start flying off the shelves.
