The biggest blunder RIM made was rushing the
PlayBook to
market before
apps and other standard features were ready.

apps will be those approved by RIM, and part of that will likely be some minimal effort to boost the platform, if only because the

When you went to the
app market, there was more there at launch then the
Playbook has mustered in its first 4 months.

TouchPad is a 2011 device that knows its
market, it comes with email
apps built right into it like gmail, yahoo, aol, msn, not links to the internet websites like the
playbook.
On the official release date of the Android update we made it our goal to have the best
Playbook App Store on the

I have to say I am disappointed bought a
playbook based on os2 was expecting so much maybe too much I am amazed after all this time that a well tested application such as the Kindle
App has to pulled just after launch because of bugs, not even going there on the Android
Market.
The BlackBerry 10 platform is built on the same OS as the BlackBerry
PlayBook (in my opinion one of the best tablets alternative tablets out there) but the
PlayBook lacked as rich
app market and RIM seem to have realized that and are now going through there very important check list to ensure that BB10 is a success, I believe it will succeed, but in this smartphone
market its really gonna be «trial and error» where RIM is allowed no errors.

Providing
PlayBook users access to Google's Android
Market would fill a glaring hole that analysts claimed RIM must address for the tablet to gain traction against the competition: access to a big swath of applications and content that RIM's Blackberry
App World, which currently includes only 20,000 applications, lacks.
For now, the
PlayBook will only support Android 2.3
apps and users won't be able to access the Android
Market, but able to get the Android
apps through the BlackBerry
App World.
Of course, it's unlikely that Google would license the Android
Market to RIM for use on the
PlayBook, but it's possible that RIM could open a third party
app store that lets you download and install native
apps or Android

PlayBook packs a lot under the hood and has a lot of potential, but the price and lack of
apps is likely to steer a lot of folks toward another brand, especially with $ 399 10» Honeycomb tablets like the Asus Transformer hitting the
market.
The Kindle tablet look very similar to the BlackBerry
Playbook and there will be a single - core application processor inside the hood, Amazon's UI customizations, a navigation menu on the screen, 6 GB of internal storage just to store books &
apps, rubberized rear panel, micro USB port, Wi - Fi connectivity, Cloud Player music services, Amazon's instant video player, Amazon's Android
App store, Kindle store, but there is no camera, no Android
Market, no Google
apps at all and it may not have a micro SD card slot.

RIM is about to turn the
market on its head with the
PlayBook it can do almost everything other then play Apple
apps!
If you launch a tablet (like BlackBerry
Playbook) late when there is already a dominance in the
market by Apple (iPad) you better be prepared to face your competitors and have so called
apps (atleast basic like twitter, facebook, fouresquare, netflix etc.) ready!
