Writer Beware Before I start, let me emphasize that what follows is my own personal
opinion.
Writers who are active on the discussion boards on GoodReads have to be aware that
posting a negative review of a book is a common way of expressing disagreement with
opinions that an author expresses in forums, or even her or his personal blog.
When I first started to read your
post I didn't agree because a.) published
writers are read by uninformed readers, b.) every reader is entitled to her
opinion, and c.) an Ivy league education doesn't necessarily equate a good
writer.
On the Huffington
Post,
writer and former book editor Jason Pinter argues that, contrary to the prevailing
opinion, men will read, they're just not being provided with the proper manly material (and, those ads for The Nook and The Kindle?
Even if I thought so (and I've seen some pretty poor quality in both spheres), it's disrespectful to my fellow
writers, and I would never
post such
opinions.
