The main reason a church might want to consider letting
prayer meetings cease is that even when
prayer meetings are healthy and people don't learn bad types of praying, they still
teach people bad habits about
prayer.
Another cause for concern is the way the christian agenda is pushed right here: christian religious beliefs to be
taught as science, christian religious texts on public buildings, christian
prayers at public
meetings, christian beliefs as law, etc..
Reading all the books about 2012, and listening to all the doom and gloom sermons, attending all the
prayer meetings about the end of the world, and watching the Discovery channel special about Mayan calendars and aliens from space and Egyptian pyramid tunnels, OR loving our neighbors, serving our spouses,
teaching our children, working hard at our jobs, and helping where people are hurting?
