The relative efficacy of different
psychological treatments for chronic post-traumatic
stress disorder (PTSD) is unclear.
The diagnosis and
treatment of cancer is a major life
stress that is followed by a range of well described
psychological, social, physical and spiritual difficulties.
There are well - documented associations between posttraumatic
stress disorder (PTSD) and intimate relationship problems, including relationship distress and aggression, 1 and studies demonstrate that the presence of PTSD symptoms in one partner is associated with caregiver burden and
psychological distress in the other partner.2 Although currently available individual psychotherapies for PTSD produce overall improvements in psychosocial functioning, these improvements are not specifically found in intimate relationship functioning.3 Moreover, it has been shown that even when patients receive state - of - the - art individual psychotherapy for the disorder, negative interpersonal relations predict worse
treatment outcomes.4, 5

Anxiety disorders are among the most common mental disorders during childhood and adolescence, with a prevalence of 3 — 5 % in school - age children (6 — 12 years) and 10 — 19 % in adolescents (13 — 18 years); 1, 2 and the prevalence of anxiety disorders in this population tends to increase over time.3 Anxiety is the most common
psychological symptom reported by children and adolescents; however, presentation varies with age as younger patients often report undifferentiated anxiety symptoms, for example, muscle tension, headache, stomachache or angry outbursts.4 According to the standard diagnostic systems, there are various types of anxiety disorders, for example, generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), social phobias (SOP), social anxiety disorder (SAD), panic disorder (PD), overanxious disorder, separation anxiety, post-traumatic
