Puppies and young dogs require high levels of dietary protein, since proteins provide the building blocks for tissues such as muscles, skin, hair and other connective tissues in many organs and are essential for the proper development of the brain.

and attention as well which may not be appropriate for children.

young puppies require more protein to help their bodies

Many rescues
require crating,
and we recommend it, as it is the safest place to leave a
dog when you aren't directly supervising, especially if the
dog is a
young puppy or if you have other pets in the house.

dogs be vaccinated against rabies at least 30 days prior to entry, except for
puppies younger than 3 months
and dogs originated or located for 6 months in areas considered to be free of rabies.

dogs are altered (spayed or neutered) before adoption,

required to be altered in our adoption contract.
The reason I mention this is because lack of owner knowledge about the amount of work
required to socialize, raise,
and train a
puppy, is one of the main factors contributing to a huge national problem: the problem of adolescent
and young adult
dogs being «given up» by owners within the first year or so of having acquired the animal.
Common situations that
require foster home support: a
young adult
dog that just needs to get well over a couple of weeks before she / he is altered
and put up for adoption; a litter of
puppies that would benefit from a family situation to aid in their social development; an animal that
requires attention
and love to overcome past traumas.
