RIM should release
a QNX update along with the PlayBook 2 launch.

The software is obviously less good but it's already improved quite a bit since it was released and since RIM is commited to
QNX for future models and product lines like phones the
updates should keep rolling in.
The link does say that it is for 7.0 or Higher devices...
QNX though is still in it's infancy as like Playbook 2.0
update coming shortly... Will

QNX running tablet is expected to find buyers in far greater numbers once the much anticipated
update starts rolling in.
What should come as a consolation is that an
update of its
QNX operating system is on the cards with the beta version of OS 2.0 presently available for those who wish to try it out.

update today that should be pushed to most people's
QNX based tablets.

Although the platform is no longer used by the Canadian company in its mobile devices,
QNX continues to see uses in the automotive industry and beyond, with its most recent
update landing in January of this year as the new
QNX SDP 7.0 (Software Development Platform), supporting C++ 14 and ARM as well as Intel's 32 - bit and 64 - bit platforms.
Now when
QNX comes I expect to see better touch screen devices but I still do nt see how they would
update the current devices with a physical keyboard since its already good as it is
Although BlackBerry 10 will be the first smartphone OS based on the
QNX platform, the PlayBook already uses
QNX, which makes it an easy target for an

There's also no BBM or BES inside RIM's
QNX 2.0
update either.
At the moment the
QNX - based BlackBerry 10 platform is expected to arrive on new handsets in the second half of 2012 and
updates should then rollout to existing handsets too.
No doubt RIM will have made some serious tweaks to
QNX by then as well, so expect some big

Six months to roll out a relatively critical software
update is simply ridiculous in this fast changing security scene... Thankfully the PlayBook
QNX based OS has been consistently pushing out security
updates within 2 weeks or so.
A report filed by Bloomberg citing its own sources has confirmed that the next generation of BlackBerry hardware which will run
QNX as its operating system will also include support for Android apps by being bundled with the same emulator as the one being pushed to the PlayBook tablet in an
update next month.
RIM made life difficult for early reviewers of the BlackBerry PlayBook with almost daily
updates of the
QNX OS the tablet is based on, improving and tweaking in the run up to launch.

QNX tablet that will be pushed out today.

RIM will be
updating QNX OS for this edition, and the
update will include the calendar app, native email, and other new BlackBerry apps.
However, TPCR did find some bugs with the new
QNX - based BlackBerry Tablet OS, many of which were eliminated with subsequent minor OS
updates.
