Out goes the charming 408hp inline five cylinder and in comes a 600hp twin - turbo V8, coupled to a 7 - speed S tronic transmission and quattro all - wheel drive system.

This version feels lighter and more poised for action, and with 59 percent of the weight up front the rear stays planted, but the Quattro all - wheel drive system is also a main player in keeping the coupe going where you aim it.

The push for the continuously variable transmission and front - wheel drive in the U.S. market will enable Audi to better meet demand for its Quattro all - wheel - drive system in other markets, Audi spokeswoman Jennifer Garber said.
