BlackBerry Curve mobile phone family: the 8520.
Research in Motion (
RIM) has taken the wraps off the smallest, lightest full QWERTY
BlackBerry yet: the
Curve, a more stylish but less feature - filled alternative to the existing
BlackBerry 8800.
These three
BlackBerry Curve mobile phones follow on from the largest launch in
RIM's history, where two weeks ago five devices were all unveiled at once — with the slider
BlackBerry Torch 9810, the full - touch screen Torch 9850 and 9860, along with the
BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930 handsets.

RIM continues the expansion of their

RIM says the new
Curve 9380 is faster than its predecessors and features an enhanced web browser, voice - activated searches, and support for Augmented Reality and NFC (Near Field Communications).
RIM is nice and vague about release dates saying that: «The
BlackBerry Bold 9790 and
BlackBerry Curve 9380 smartphones will begin to be available from various carriers around the world over the coming weeks.»
RIM has just announced that before the year runs out, they will be releasing the
BlackBerry Curve 9380 which will be the first
Curve model that's all touchscreen and no QWERTY keyboard.

BlackBerry Curve line and further expand the largest global launch of
BlackBerry smartphones in our history,» said
RIM Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis in a statement.
Continuing the
BlackBerry Curve line of devices,

BlackBerry Curve (codenamed apollo) may be the least exciting of the 2011
BlackBerry Smartphone lineup, but with its good looks, respectable hardware and what will likely be a low price point this device should be a HUGE seller for
RIM.
Thus the
Curve brand for
RIM represents entry level
BlackBerry Smartphones, which will cover both styles of form factor (and yes, new
Curves are definitely on the way soon).
It seems like forever ago that we found about
RIM's plans for the next - generation
BlackBerry Curve, originally codenamed and referred to by all as the Javelin.
Virgin Media has brought to their pay as you go price plans the
BlackBerry Curve 3G, Pearl 3G, Bold 9780 and
BlackBerry Torch 9800 — all of which now joins the
Curve 8520, their first prepay
RIM device.
Well when
RIM sent me the new
BlackBerry Curve 8900 to review I was excited.
Following up the
BlackBerry Curve 85xx series and
BlackBerry Curve 3G series, the next generation of
BlackBerry Curve (we're not sure on naming yet) looks to be stellar upgrade for what
RIM considers to be their entry level line of smartphone, giving it a big boost in speed and a sleek new look.

BlackBerry Curve 9350, 9360 and 9370 smartphones, like the
Curve models that came before them, take the best of what

RIM did the right thing in my opinion - they made it clear to owners that they had a uniquely different device from previous generations, and gave it a name that refers to multiple devices within that generation of device (the
Curve 3G 9300/9330 and Pearl 3G 9100/9105).
Whether you're looking to be picking up a brand new Bold (Dakota), a new
Curve (Apollo) or even looking to put yourself in a newer, faster
BlackBerry Torch 2 it should be a good year for
RIM all around.
RIM just unleashed in total, three new
BlackBerry Curve smartphones — all of which look identical to one another.
The

Pricing and availability of the
