Another of his recent work, on how to strategically
point telescopes to find electromagnetic counterparts to gravitational wave sources, was adapted for
observations by the Very Large Array
radio telescope in New Mexico, which successfully observed
radio emission from the merger.
But it seems the astronomy community is taking this lead seriously and the SETI Institute's Allen Telescope Array, an array of 42
radio antennae in California, have been
pointed at the star in the hope of replicating the RATAN - 600
observation.
