Raid mode takes the loot system of action RPGs and combines it with short time - trial style levels, where you can play singleplayer or co-op as you complete levels based off of the campaign modes environments.

With a new story mission, subclasses,
modes, and a new
Raid, it seems like The
Taken King is a worthy expansion that will lead Destiny into its second year.
A great deal of the bosses within the campaign themselves feel catered to those who play in a Fireteam and of course,
taking on
Raid and Nightfall
modes isn't something you'd look to tackle with randomers.
I've had Destiny for a week now (thanks to Royal Mail's usual shoddy service) and have been hitting the
modes pretty hard to level up my gear enough to
take on the upcoming
Raids that are only open to level 26 and up.
I don't agree with
taking out mechanics from SM bosses because SM is for learning and mechanics are a big part of the fun, but no one with half a clue should be wiping over and over on story
mode operations and that was the thing that really killed
raiding during 3.0, with underlurker which was buggy, but also badly overtuned for story
mode.
Taking the place of a
Raid in this expansion pack, the Prison of Elders introduces us to a wave - based survival
mode with a plethora of options that provide a high level of re-playability.
It'd feel really nice to be able to hand your buddy a controller to help you
take down some alien scum, or even have the ability to hop online to do
raid modes with other A.N.T.I. troopers.

take on the popular Mercenaries
mode which appears in the main series and its own game on the 3DS.
