What I'd love to see from Apple js an e-ink
reader, the ability to port previous ebook purchases to sync with the said e-
reader, social media for e-book (iTunes + Goodreads would be so awesome), strong
support for customisable dictionaries and fonts, and the option to borrow from the
library.
The panel continued with a word of
support for
libraries for the work they're doing to keep books — whether print, digital, or audio — relevant in the lives of

The FCC has taken a look at the Pandigital AW - NU706 ebook

One of the biggest draws and selling points of Adobe DRM -
supporting ereaders, especially the Sony
Readers, is that you can checkout ebooks for free from your local
library to read on them.
Amazon announced today that the Kindle and Kindle reading apps will soon be getting
support for
library books through a service called OverDrive, which currently provides access to over 11,000
libraries in the United States with
support for just about every ebook
reader but the Kindle.
Aside from the large 7.8 - inch 300 ppi E Ink screen, one of the coolest things about the Kobo Aura One is the fact that it has OverDrive
support built - in so that you can easily download free ebooks from your public
library directly onto the
reader itself.
Sony noted in its statement that «thousands» of
libraries are already offering e-books that
support Sony
Reader devices, and a quick review found that more than 20
libraries in eastern Massachusetts are lending such e-books, which conform to the International Digital Publishing Forum's widely - used open format known as EPUB.
I know most people in Europe read on Ipads, because there is no reasonable priced e-ink
reader available, except the Kindle... which does not
support library books in Europe — the Nook does!
