When our fore fathers came up with the idea of seperation of church and state it wasn't to keep
religion out of the government it was to keep the Church from running the government.
Coming out of a legacy of the religious persecution that had been happening in England and Europe since the time of Luther and Henry VIII, and knowing full well that religious persecution was what their forefathers had come to the new world to escape, the founder purposely kept
religion out of government.
Just keep your prayer and
