Sure, in some of the quests do need you to search around the rooftops and streets little for your objective, like the Militia Watchtowers and mines to be disarmed, but for the most part there's just nothing actually in Gotham worth discovering, except for goons to punch and the standard gamut of
Riddler trophies.
Tons of backtracking through the same locations (GCPD, Subways, Zsasz, Steel Mill,
Riddler trophies / puzzles).

the riddler trophies), I haven't 100 % synched AC3 yet, I haven't found all of the 100 heroes yet (missing 25 guys) and not even normal difficulty has platinum medals on all missions, I haven't gotten all orbs in Trine 2, done all missions in the ZEN / SW tables I have, gotten all the pieces in Toki Tori 2, didn't unlock all artwork yet in chronicles of mystara, didn't get far in Zombi U or Need for speed — still have to catch up on months of DLC for monster hunter 3 Ultimate — still have to pick up the DLC for Injustice and haven't gotten around to buying Spiderman yet...
Just when you thought you had found every single
Riddler trophy and milked all the side missions in Arkham City dry, developers Rocksteady are throwing some more DLC your way.

The driving complaints wouldn't have been as much of an issue if it wasn't that the game ostensibly forces the gameplay down your throat; for example the

trophies which are still pretty much the same as before) have a heavy - weighting towards car time - trials which are often frustrating and unwieldy.

trophy and challenge gives you the opportunity to fight
Riddler himself, who's created a force - field - emitting mech to take you on.

Riddler, one of Batman's oldest foes, offers up 243 diverse «
Riddler Challenges» to solve, each challenge entails the player collecting various unique
trophies from each diverse section of the city and returning them to the
Riddler whilst time permits it.

Riddler's role in Arkham City feels far more fleshed out before, with his
trophies now often having small but cunning puzzles to solve to gain access.
Best suit and car, but without any tank functionality the Batmobile ’89 is mostly useless — you can't even use it for getting many of the
Riddler's
trophies where the car is needed.

trophies are back and better than ever.
Another much wanted addition is the chance to finally go toe - to - toe with The
Riddler after you have completed his challenges, allowing you to punch his face repeatedly as punishment for littering Gotham with his
trophies.
