River excavation sites over the last five summers.

excavations led by University of Sheffield archaeologist Mike Parker Pearson have led him to suggest the two
sites were built as a single complex of complementary stone and wood circles linked by a
river route.
Over the years,
excavation expanded beyond the original
site, called Açutuba, toinclude other spots in a 20 - square - mile area on the peninsula that juts between the Amazon and Rio Negro
rivers.
It includes data from the team's ongoing
excavations at the
sites of two ancient communities in the lower Yellow
River flood plain of China's Henan province.
Outside the museum is a preserved
excavation site that features the foundations of the many mansions that called this
river plain home.
This is an 8 month
excavation of a settlement at the
site that was destroyed by fire, causing it to collapse into a
river channel, preserving the contents in situ.
