Roman shades have become my go - to window treatments.
Today's motorized
Roman shades have no cords to get tangled up in.
And
roman shades have been installed to add a mix of crimson and navy blue to the room.
Accented with a contrast grosgrain ribbon,
our roman shade has a crisp, tailored look.
I want to bring them to a more current style and was thinking
Roman shades would be a good idea.
For an extra dose of color in the kitchen, a blue and white
roman shade has been hung over the window.
I loved the graphic black and white
roman shades we had made from our old home so much, I moved them to their playroom and that is where the color scheme began.
The classic
roman shade has decorative seams through the front fabric that provides added texture when the shade is lowered.
(or they would in my house) Think a bamboo / rattan window covering or
roman shade would work best, or fabric covered cornices if you are looking to add pattern and color!
Not exact matches
More than 5 million window coverings, including vertical and horizontal blinds,
roman shades, and roll - up blinds,
have been recalled in recent years because they are dangerous to small children.
So while I spent more for a glider, knowing we
'd transition it to our living room later, this room is filled with clearance items (hello,
roman shades!)
Late last year when I added this black and white buffalo check faux
roman shade (you can read all about that HERE + tips for designing and incorporating your own faux
roman shade into your home) I knew this rug
would be perfect in front of the sink to stand on at the end of a long day.
For the
roman shades I chose this fabric that also
has a similar design as my wallpaper on the opposite side of the room to bring these two spaces together, along with using some of the same pillow fabrics (I talk more about the importance of repeating patterns in a space here) on this side of the room.
I love the look of
Roman shades and
had no idea I could make my own - I'll def
have to try this out.
I also love that for future projects I might

roman shades, to bench cushions, pillows, shower curtains, and more.

I
've been on the hunt for great
roman shades for quite some time now and, little did I know, the most amazing source was right in my back yard!
On the window subject I like the sleek look you
have but if you really want a window covering, how about a simple
Roman Shade?
I
have a fabulous seamstress but am back and forth on how to dress them (one panel on each end /
roman shades in between or a panel between each window), the moulding is thicker than usual between the windows but I don't think I want to break them up.
It
has accomplished wonders far surpassing Egyptian pyramids,
Roman aqueducts, and Gothic cathedrals; it
has conducted expeditions that put in the
shade all former Exoduses of nations and crusades.
One item I
've been looking forward to making with my sewing machine is fake
roman shades for some of our windows.
We found some inexpensive
roman shades at Home Depot for the windows and painted his childhood desk (I
'd still like to change out the knobs but
have yet to convince him that's a necessary expense).
Roman Shades will
have a thicker stack at the top of window depending on the length of the
shade, but can be mounted outside and above the window frame if you
'd like to keep your glass clear.
Have you thought about layering the
roman shades over the shutters by mounting them above the trim?
I do like
roman shades and
would definitely use them in the bedroom.

Romans, the dowels are sewn into the back of the
shade, creating a flat front, while Aventura
Romans have the dowels sewn into the front for a raised pleat.
Fabric

would go with a flatter look, like a
roman shade or cream bamboo maybe, but that's only my taste, not yours.

JCP also
has lovely cordless
roman shades — just also rather pricey.

I
would love to
have Roman shades in my bathroom but don't like that there's no in between to open or closed.
I
would say, to get the feel of this room in your home, you
have to
have those bamboo
roman - ish
shades... And lots of differnt
shades of wood mixed with whites and beiges and gentle pale florals... I
would say the people who live here, like the idea of bali and island living, but still are in love with a traditional flair... It is very very nice!
For windows that just need some color and softness but don't need operating
Roman shades, I think I
have the best method for making faux
Roman shades.

We
have relaxed
Roman shades (curved hem) here, + they were special ordered from J.C. Penney about 8 years ago.
You could even use a pull down bamboo or
roman shade to cover a TV niche or bookshelf, if you wanted to
have a «window» like appearance.
I love
roman shades — I
have some in a few rooms and am looking to add more to other rooms.
Another thing I
would do is use
roman shades, mounted to the wall above the taller set of windows on the right in your photo.
I love the way the
Roman shades look, but what
would you do with the small window?
Also, that tall window in the bathroom will
have a plantation shutter covering the bottom half, and a
roman shade on the upper half.
For the
roman shade, I bought an inexpensive
shade from JC Penney (they were the only ones that
had the size I needed!)
