S. Schneidman and N. L. Farberow point out that all suicides, whether attempted or committed, «involves
tremendous disruption of life, emotional turmoil, social discord.»
S. Kim Hatfield, a member of the panel and president of Crawley Petroleum since 1985, put it this way: «Those guys have
tremendous experience working under really adverse conditions and know more about how to get things done in that type of environment than any other group that you could name.»
