After the file has been renamed, then you should go to «platform - tools» folder under
the SDK directory you've created while setting up the Android SDK.
This folder can be found in in
the SDK directory you've created before starting to read this guide.
All the files that you are about to flash via «adb sideload» will have to be placed under the «platform - tools» folder, it can be found under the Android
SDK directory.
Place the factory image files in the «platform - tools» folder under
the SDK directory you've created using the instructions above.
After the download is complete you should extract its archived contents and place all the files in the «platform - tools» of the Android
SDK directory.
From
the SDK directory open a cmd window — press and hold the Shift keyboard key and while doing so right click on any blank space; from the list that will be displayed choose «open command prompt window here».
Move the «update.zip» file of Android 5.0 in the «platform - tools» folder under
SDK directory you've created after installing the Android SDK tool.
Make sure to find the «platform - tools» folder under
the SDK directory, as that's where you will have to place the «factory image» extracted installation files.
Now you should extract the contents of the factory image archive to «platform - tools» folder under
SDK directory.

Next, find the platform - tools folder under the
SDK installation
directory.
On my PC, for instance, that means typing «cd /» and pressing return to get to the root
directory, and then «cd program files \ android -
sdk - windows \ platform - tools» and pressing enter.
I found the easiest way to do this was simply to copy it to the same
directory as adb on my computer, which was the / program files / android -
sdk - windows / platform - tools
directory.
To begin, open a command prompt window, then change
directories until you arrive at the / android -
sdk / platform - tools / folder.
For most users, this can be found at C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Android \ android -
sdk \, so go ahead and move the files to that
directory.
Note that this would still be possible with a Mac or a Linux machine, but you'd have to install the entire Android
SDK, and the installation
directories would be different than those shown below.
To do that, Windows users will need to open the platform - tools folder inside of their ADB installation
directory, which can usually be found at C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Android \ android -
sdk \.
At the CMD prompt and in the C: program files (x86) androidandroid - sdkplatform - tools
directory (if you installed the full
SDK) or wherever ADB and fastboot reside.
If you chose a different
directory, than ADB and Fastboot will reside in the platform - tools folder under whatever location you chose to install the Android
SDK Tools to in step 2.
Now, go to installation
directory and find
SDK Manager app.
It can be found under the
SDK installation
directory.
Open your Mac's Terminal (or Command Prompt if you're a Windows user) then change
directory (cd) so it's pointing at your Android
SDK download; specifically, the Android / sdk / platform - tools fold
