According to a statement signed by Captain Suleman Dahun for the Chief of the Naval
Staff, stated that the Exercise, sponsored by U.S Africa Command and designed to improve regional cooperation, maritime domain awareness, information -
sharing practices and tactical interdiction expertise to enhance the collective capabilities of Gulf of Guinea and West African nations to counter
sea - based illicit activity.
At the same time (and partly as a result), the
SEA has had to reorganize — to move
staff away from working on specific programs toward a more general school - improvement strategy that all
staff members can
share in.
The need to respond to mandates in national and state legislation has prompted
SEA staff members from different offices to break out of their silos and
share responsibility for educational success.
