My only
games growing up were Pacland for Commodore 64, Sonic and Columns for
Sega Mega Drive, and later Tomb Raider 4 for PC.
First, we had to deal with the Platinum Games embargo fiasco, then we had to get George into
Sega Gamer's Day and we finally had to make sure we get
up all the articles on time; it was enough to make
grown men cry.
Sonic the Hedgehog may still be one of the single biggest names in video gaming history, but fans who have
grown up alongside
Sega's blue speedster have found that too few of the newer Sonic
games have been able to capture the series» original charm.
Both Chang and Gar
grew up playing retro video
games, some of them include the Commodore 64, Nintendo, Super Nintendo,
Sega Saturn and many others.
Growing up in the late 80's and early 90's, most kids who played video
games owned either Nintendo or
SEGA consoles.
While many old guard
gamers like myself who
grew up in the 1980's may fondly remember those days, they're a far cry from the reality that is the
SEGA we know today.

Being a Brit, I

SEGA so Golden Axe is a
game I love despite all it's faults.
These were mostly «coin operated amusements,» arcades pre-electronics — all of that is just the past, of course, and the past is prelude: the

games coaxed masterfully from
games like Hang - On and After Burner.
With the SNES Mini Classic and the
SEGA Forever tapping deep into that retro vein
gamers grew up with.
My parents didn't necessarily support my interest in gaming when I was
growing up, so I was limited to my
Sega Genesis with Sonic Spinball, Boogerman, Eternal Champions, Dinosaurs for Hire and the WWF and Mortal Kombat
games (sans MK1, even though it was the very first
game I had ever played).
If you
grew up with Master System sports
games, you know that
Sega can be chintzy with content.

Still, many portable
gamers have

You do remember that their are fans that didn't just
grow up with the
SEGA genesis and
grew up with the Dreamcast with
games like Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2...
i would just like to say a few things i agree on people saying about the running animation that is pretty bad, we have seen 2 seconds of the
game we cant judge it yet so stop moaning we cant have old school sonic, sonic
grew up it wouldnt make sence also sonic has had a homeing attack since 1999 so getting rid of that would be getting rid of a part of sonic him self keep the homeing attack the
game is great everything about it is great

Yet I
grew up with a
SEGA MegaDrive and
grew up with the classic series of two - dimensional SONIC THE HEDGEHOG
games... basically, I'm exactly who this new title is designed for!
just because you
grew up with the original sonic
games doesn't mean you get more say over what goes in the
game than anyone else, heck to be honesst none of us has control over that no matter how much of a fan we are, that's
sega's decision.Just think about it like this.
As a fan who
grew up with
Sega in the 1990s (okay, and the 80s) it's definitely a kick and a trip to see these two
games arrive on these platforms on the same day.
Gamers who
grew up during the 16 - bit console wars always wondered if Nintendo's Super Mario and
Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog would ever appear together in the same
game, and while everyone at the lunch table had his or her own idea about how the two titans may someday clash, very few people would have predicted the setting of the battle to be Beijing.

I never owned a
Sega Genesis
growing up, but I remember TV commercials about Vector Man — and it made me want to get a Genesis just for the
game!
In all honesty, I
grew up playing «the other» console, so I never really played any
SEGA games when I was younger, but if I had to choose, I'd say there's a special place in my heart for Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and Afterburner.
