The second

SNES classic Kirby Super
Star.
The

Star, Kirby's Dream Course, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Mega Man X, Secret of Mana,
Star Fox,
Star Fox 2, Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting, Super Castlevania IV, Super Ghouls»n Ghosts, Super Mario Kart, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven
Stars, Super Mario World, Super Metroid, Super Punch - Out!!
Hackers have already uploaded ROMs of the

In the 25th Anniversary release for Super Mario All
Stars, aside from the role she played in -
game, her sending letters in the
game was referenced by a letter submitted by Nintendo with her being the in - universe author, with the letter itself stylized more after the
SNES version in design.
It is based on the Super Mario All -
Stars remaster for the
SNES, and also contains a remake of the original Mario Bros.
game.
The Collection includes the six classic Kirby
games: Kirby's Dream Land (
Game Boy), Kirby's Dream Land 2 (
Game Boy), Kirby's Adventure (NES), Kirby Super
Star (
SNES), Kirby's Dream Land 3 (
SNES) and Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards (N64).
On the other hand, there's no denying that the
SNES Classic is missing plenty of great titles: Chrono Trigger, Super Mario All -
Stars, NBA Jam, Blackthorne and a number of sequels (the later Mega Man X and Donkey Kong Country
games, notably).
I cut my RPG teeth on the
SNES, playing
games like Final Fantasy IV, Chrono Trigger, and Secret of Mana, and Cosmic
Star Heroine evokes that era of RPG better than almost any other
game out there.
Even if not every
game holds up that well (sorry, fans of
Star Fox and Kirby's Dream Course), the
SNES Classic is, right out of the box, basically a whistle - stop tour of what made the
SNES great.
All of these
games would be considered classics by anyone's standards, and some of them in particular show up in our list of Top
SNES Classics — Secret of Mana, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven
Stars, and Earthbound — are massive role - playing
games that can take dozens of hours to complete.
And for the first time, you'll be able to play
Star Fox 2, the sequel to the original
Star Fox
game (which is also included) that was created during the
SNES era, but never released... until now.
For pretty obvious reasons you'll notice the likes of Donkey Kong 64 and all the
SNES Donkey Kong
games are absent, Diddy Kong Racing is AWOL and there's no sign of
Star Fox Adventures.
Even with later Mario RPGs borrowing elements from its formula, there hasn't been a
game quite like Seven
Stars on the
SNES or any other system.
The first Super Mario All -
Stars game was released on the Super Nintendo (
SNES) back in 1993.
For people on a Nintendo enthusiast website, i'm sure there are several
games that we wish we could see on the system (I remember several articles about this subject months back), but for people like my cousins who used to play on NES /
SNES when they were younger, all of the big Mario / Zelda / Donkey Kong / Metriod /
Star Fox / Bomberman
games are on there, and that absolutely meets their needs when we get together.
I could have done without Kirby's Dream Course (a silly but entertaining golf
game) in favor of, say, Super Mario All -
Stars, but Nintendo did an excellent overall job distilling the
SNES» greatest hits into a single package.
Super Mario Kart feels messy compared to newer installments, and while I had fun revisiting
Star Fox, the
game's smudgy polygons and chuggy frame rate serve as a reminder that the
SNES wasn't exactly designed for 3D space shooters.
The
SNES Classic, a small mini version of the console, come packed with twenty - one of the systems's best
games including one that has never seen the light of day, the ever elusive
Star Fox 2, and classics like: Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
And let's face it, if
Star Fox 2 isn't the first
game you dive into on the
SNES Classic, I will personally do a barrel roll.
Star Fox 2 is a weird
game in its own right, a late - generation
SNES game trying to do elaborate things with 3D graphics and player choice.
Given the rapid advancement of gaming technology over the past 20 years you might assume that
Star Fox 2 — bereft of that all - important nostalgic connection which makes the other
games on the
SNES Mini seem so appealing — is a tough sell, especially when modern
games are fast approaching photo - realistic levels of visual perfection.
The fact that we're getting the chance to play
Star Fox 2 in 2017 is nothing short of remarkable, but what's even more surprising is that out of all of the
games on the
SNES Mini, it's one we can't help but keep returning to.
Sadly, we never saw these features put to use of the
SNES, and we may never even see
Star Fox 2 on the eShop, as Cuthburt notes that the legal complications involving the
game's software are tremendous.
The first
SNES game to feature the assistance of the Super FX chip,
Star Fox delivered cutting - edge 3D visuals in your living room.
With the
SNES Mini these problems have been much improved upon (though, we'd argue, not entirely solved), and Nintendo has also managed to throw in a couple of great new features, including a classic
game that has never been released until now:
Star Fox 2.
Released for the first time ever on the
SNES Classic,
Star Fox 2 is perhaps the
game many owners of the new system will boot up first.
